At SHIBA & CO, we chose a different path.
For our newest people apparel collection—Shiba Inu–inspired hoodies, sweatshirts, and T-shirts—we produce select pieces only when someone chooses them. No excess stock. No guessing demand. Just thoughtful design, made with intention. This is what Sustainably Made to Matter means to us.
Why Sustainably Made to Matter Program
Made-to-order means a garment doesn’t exist until it’s wanted. Instead of producing large quantities ahead of time, we wait. When someone places an order, that piece enters production specifically for the person. It takes a little longer—but it avoids creating clothing that has nowhere to go.
Overproduction has long been one of fashion’s quiet inefficiencies. As Vogue has reported, billions of garments are produced each year and never sold, contributing directly to waste and excess inventory. Our approach is simpler: fewer pieces, made with purpose.
